VETERANS BENEFIT INFORMATION

As a high technology school, training in telecommunications the VA as of October 2002 will now pay 60% of the tuition and fees. This does not include books, tool kit and certification testing.

Both our fiber optic broadband technician and our cable television/satellite installer programs qualify for VA benefits under the Montgomery GI Bill, Chapter 30.

Although you normally receive monthly benefits, you may also apply for an accelerated payment.

The ACES Certification tests are now approved by the VA. This includes the Professional Fiber Optic Installer Certification ($150) and the Professional Data Cabling Installer Certification ($150).

Veterans Can Be Reimbursed for SCTE Certification Test Fees

Veterans can use their GI Bill to have the costs of taking certification exams with SCTE reimbursed, according to a recent announcement by the Veterans Affairs (VA).
SCTE has met all of the criteria for approval for Veterans Education. SCTE offers six certifications—Broadband Premises Specialist (BPS), Broadband Distribution Specialist (BDS), Broadband Transport Specialist (BTS), Broadband TelecomCenter Specialist (BTCS), Broadband Communications Technician (BCT^®), and Broadband Communications Engineer (BCE^®). Tests for each certification cost $25 for SCTE members and $45 for nonmembers.
